Replace the levy.
Keep the rate.
Vote yes this November.

Central Valley's school levy expires at the end of 2027. This measure replaces it at the same rate we pay today — $2.50 per $1,000 of assessed value. It funds teachers, nurses, counselors, safety staff, music, athletics, and advanced courses the state doesn't pay for.

What it costs

$2.50 per $1,000 of assessed value, exactly what CV property owners pay today. On a $450,000 home, total local school taxes stay at $93.75 a month. No change.

What it funds

Teachers and school staff, special education, nurses, counselors, safety staff, music, athletics, advanced courses, and extracurricular activities. State funding doesn't cover all of it. The levy covers the rest.

What is the levy

The state pays for what it calls basic education. It doesn't cover the full cost of running a school district. Central Valley makes up the difference with a local levy, and that levy expires at the end of 2027.

The levy replaces the expiring levy for three years, 2028 through 2030, at the rate we pay today. Predictable funding lets Central Valley keep strong programs strong and add what students need next.

School Resource Officers at every High School

About 70% of CV students play a sport, perform, or take part in a club.

10,180 college credits last year through AP and Running Start.

What it pays for

The levy brings in about $50 million a year for three years, roughly one dollar in six of what it costs to run Central Valley schools.

Worth knowing alongside it: your total local school tax rate is lower than it was a decade ago. In 2015 it was $5.44. Today it's $3.92, and this levy is built to keep it there.

*Bond and capital projects rates are district projections and may shift slightly year to year. The EP&O rate in Proposition 1 is fixed at $2.50 per $1,000 and cannot go higher. Your own bill depends on your assessed value, which the Spokane County Assessor sets independently of the school district. Exemptions are available for some seniors and disabled property owners.
